These terms govern the use of the butlerapp.co website and the Butler apps. By using them, you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please do not use our services.

01Butler at a glance

Butler is a platform that connects clients (homeowners and businesses) with independent cleaning professionals, Butlers, and cleaning companies, Partners. Butler makes booking, tracking and paying for services easier; cleaning services are provided by Butlers and Partners.

02The website and the app launch

The website presents Butler services. The app is about to launch: until then, the booking and sign-up buttons let you join the launch list. The prices, availability and conditions shown in the app at the time of booking are the ones that apply.

03Your account

To use the apps, you must be of legal age and able to enter into a contract. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your access details confidential and for your account’s activity.

04Clients

  • Describe the requested service accurately: type and size of the home or premises, rooms to clean, special instructions.
  • Provide safe and reasonable access at the scheduled time (being present, a key or an access code).
  • Pay for booked services through the platform, at the price shown before booking.

05Butlers and Partners

  • Butlers and Partners are self-employed workers and independent businesses, not Butler employees.
  • Every profile is reviewed by the Butler team before access to jobs, and every Butler completes Butler Training, the mandatory course, before their first job.
  • They comply with applicable laws, including labour, insurance and tax laws, and report their income.
  • They keep to agreed schedules, give notice of any delay or cancellation, and follow Butler’s quality and conduct standards.

Failure to follow these terms may lead to the suspension or closure of the account.

06Prices, payment and cancellation

  • The price is shown before booking. It is paid electronically, through the platform, once the cleaning is approved.
  • Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the service; a later cancellation may involve a fee, shown in the app.
  • If a service does not satisfy you, write to us within 48 hours: each case is reviewed for a redo or a refund.
  • Added tasks or going over the booked time may involve extra charges, confirmed in the app.

07Butler Care

Butler Care is a free, no-commitment program for regular cleaning. Its benefits, including the applicable discount, are described in the app and may change. You can turn it off at any time from your profile.

08Intellectual property

The content of the website and apps (text, images, logos, software) belongs to Butler or its partners. You may view it for personal use, but not copy, modify, resell or republish it without written permission.

09Availability and liability

We do our best to keep the website and apps accurate and available, but they are provided “as is”. Maintenance interruptions or errors may occur. To the extent permitted by law, Butler is not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, its services. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer protection law.

11Changes

We may change these terms. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page; if there is a significant change, we will let you know. Continuing to use our services after a change means you accept it.

12Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws in force in Canada, including those of the province where the service is provided. If a clause is found invalid, the others remain in effect.
